Below you will find the general conditions for renting furniture and related services to furnish an apartment, house, or any venue in Panama.
Handover
The lessor agrees to deliver the rented items, as listed in the contract, in clean, usable condition and on time.
Use of the rented items
The lessee may only use the rented items for the purposes specified in the contract. Any change in use requires prior written permission from the lessor.
Maintenance of the rented items
The lessor is responsible for maintaining the items and repairing any damage not caused by the lessee. Defects noticed by the lessee upon delivery must be reported immediately, in writing, to the lessor. During the rental period, the lessee is responsible for routine cleaning of the items.
Return of the rented items
At the end of the rental, items must be returned in good and clean condition, taking into account normal wear and tear as stated in the contract and their condition at the start of the rental.
Alterations
Any alterations or modifications to the rented items by the lessee require prior written approval from the lessor.
Right of inspection
The lessor has the right to inspect the rented items with 48 hours’ prior notice, in order to determine if repairs or maintenance are required.
Price
The agreed rental amount is considered the “rent.”
Lessee’s liability
The lessee is liable for damages proven to be caused by their misuse or negligence. The lessee is required to maintain private insurance, including tenant’s liability, from the start of the rental. The lessor has the right to request a copy of this policy.
Insurance
The lessor will obtain property insurance at the lessee’s expense to cover the rented items during transportation to and from the residence, as well as during the rental period.
Security deposit
The lessor is entitled to request a monetary security deposit from the lessee. This deposit serves as a guarantee against any claims arising under the rental contract.
Place of performance and jurisdiction
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the domicile of the lessor in Panama shall be considered the place of performance and jurisdiction for both parties.
